Robert "Bob" PeppleRobert Lee "Bob" Pepple, 70, of Rushville died at 5:20 a.m., Aug. 13, 2012, at Countryview Care Center in Macomb.

He was born July 26, 1942, in Rushville, a son of Leland O. & K. Imogene Lawler Pepple. He married Connie Blaesing on Nov. 26, 1966, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Maxwell of Athens and Tracey Hill of Springfield; one brother, Dennis C. (and Teresa) Pepple of Galesburg; one half-sister Carol Lee (and Dan) Heck of St. Cloud, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

He was a United States Marine serving in Vietnam.

He earned a Certificate from Quincy Technical School in refrigerator and air conditing; an associates of applied science Degree from John Wood Community College in 1982; and attended classes at Southern Illinois University.

He worked as an apprentice lineman with Central Illinois Public Service in Beardstown from 1969-79. He was a self-employed carpenter and laborer and truck driver for Dave Clinard Trucking from 1995-2000. From 2000-05 he was the owner/operator of Pepple Trucking, retiring due to health problems.

He was of member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Rushville; a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus 661 in Beardstown; Macomb VFW Post #1921; and Rushville Jaycees.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Rushville with Monsignor Richard Pricco as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery, with military rites by US Marine Corps Honor Detail and Macomb VFW Post #1921. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
