Scott ParrishScott E. Parrish, 72, of rural Havana died at 4:15 p.m. Jan. 12, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 1, 1938, in Canton, a son of Carl C. and Anna Mae Moran Parrish. He married Nancy Sizek on June 23, 1963, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Carl M. (and Cris) Parrish of Lewistown; one daughter, Vonda K. (and Keith) Sowers of Lewistown; one brother, Clinton (and Donna) Parrish of Bartonville; one sister, Gert (and Ed) Seward of Cuba; and six grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961 on the USS Saratoga.

He farmed his entire life.

Besides farming, he was an electrician and also worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for 18 years.

He was currently serving on Spoon River Electric Board of Directors and South Fulton Water District Board of Directors.

He was a member of Locust Lane United Methodist Church of Canton and Havana Assembly of God Church.

He also was a member of Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Services were held Monday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton with Rev. Ardith Corsaw officiating.
