Robert Parker

Robert Lee Parker, 72, of Rushville died at 9:05 a.m. June 23, 2010, at Snyder’s Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Feb. 24, 1938, in McDonough County, a son of William and Ruth James Parker. He married Betty L. Frakes on Aug. 8, 1955, in Arkansas. She died Oct. 11, 1991. He later married Carol Gibbs on Dec. 30, 1992, in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert Joe (and Julie) Parker and Randall Ray (and Kim) Parker, both of Burlington, Iowa; one daughter, Michelle (and Bobby) LeKander of Burlington; two stepsons, Donald (and Kendra) Bergquist of Burlington and Douglas (and Debbie) Bergquist of Weaver, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Cathy (and Barry) Rebman of Rushville; two brothers, William (and Mary) Parker of Burlington and Benny Parker of Macomb; one sister, Sue (and Dave) Woodside of Littleton; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Roxanne Steward; and one stepson, Robert Bergquist.

He was a member of American Motorcycle Association and Schuyler County Coonhunters Association.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Burial was in Chockley Cemetery near Industry.
