Roderick PollittRoderick L. Pollitt, 78, of Lewistown died at 2:10 p.m. May 5, 2009, at Graham Hospital Extended Care.

He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Liverpool Township, Fulton County, the son of Lloyd and Lucille Sleeth Pollitt. He married Ruth Vaughn on Feb. 21, 1952, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, William (and Wanda) Pollitt of Austin, Minn.; one daughter, Pamela (and Steve) Blackwell of Lewistown; and two grandchildren.

He was a Korean War veteran serving in the Air Force.

He was a lifelong farmer in Liverpool Township until the time of his death.

He was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001, Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM, Lewistown First Presbyterian Church, a former Prichard Clark School Board member, former East Liverpool Drainage District member, past member of American Shorthorn Association, member of Fulton County Farm Bureau and Lewistown FFA Alumni Association.

Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1.

Memorials may be made to his church or the Fulton County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund.
