Donna Merle Paton, 71, of Canton died at 7:05 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008, at Graham Hospital emergency room in Canton.
She was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Lewistown, the daughter of William R. and Merle Seward Mustread. She married Donald Paton in 1970 in Peoria.
Surviving are one son, Rick Lafary of Smithfield; one daughter, Deanna Whitmer of Mikana, Wis.; one brother, Floyd (and Shelly) Mustread of San Jose; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Lafary; and two brothers.
She farmed alone with her husband for many years in the Smithfield area, and had worked for Computer Land and several other companies in the Peoria area as a CPA.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Ardith Corsaw officiating. Inurnment will be in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home.
