William "Bill" PalmerWilliam "Bill" Palmer died of cancer Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in Ojai, Calif.

He was born in Denver, Colo., in 1928, a son of Ruth and Paul Palmer.

He is survived by his wife, Karen (Danner) Palmer; three sons, Aaron Palmer of Ojai, Daniel Palmer of Oakhurst, Calif., and Paul "Pete" Palmer of Ojai; and nine grandchildren.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1945-1949. He lived in Astoria from 1973-1977 and was owner of Casa de Mexico. He was past president (4 terms) of the Ventura County Bird Club. He owned and retired from the Palmer Concrete Construction Company in 1991 and in 1992 took over the Proex Propane Company.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Ojai Raptor Center, PO Box 182, Oakview, CA 93022.
