Shawn Pilgrim

Shawn D. Pilgrim, 26, of Ipava was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at her residence.

She died of carbon monoxide poisoning after a car in which she had fallen asleep caught fire in front of her home.

She was born Sept. 1, 1977, in Peoria, a daughter of Steve and Sharolyn Bennett Pilgrim.

Surviving are her mother of Ipava; one brother, Shad (and Tomasa) Pilgrim of Monmouth; and her grandfather, Charles Pilgrim of Smithfield.

She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandmother and maternal grandparents.

She was a waitress in the Fulton County area, last working at Bucher's Club 24 in Summum.

She graduated from Lewistown High School and was a past princess of the Spoon River Drive Association.

Graveside services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Randall Cemetery in Ipava with Rev. Vicki Rilea officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava is in charge of arrangements.
