MELBA L. (MAURICE) PHILLIPS HARTSOCK

Melba Phillips

Melba L. Phillips, 73, of Canton died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Norris, a daughter of Melvin M. and Helen M. Stambaugh Maurice. She married Warren H. Phillips. He died in June 1984. She married Tom Hartsock in September 1994 in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are three sisters, Donna Nash of Santa Cruz, Calif., Louise (and Ray) White of Canton and Beverly Galloway (and James Richey) of Vermont.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

A member of the International Harvester Girls Club, she had been a timekeeper at International Harvester Co. for 20 years.

She attended Church of the Brethren in Canton.

Cremation has been accorded. There will be no services or visitation. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Spoon River Hospice or any charity.
