MARY ALICE (HENRICK) PEACOCK

Mary Peacock

Mary Alice Peacock, 58, of Beardstown died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at the home of her mother in Mount Sterling.

She was born March 25, 1941, in Quincy, the daughter of Myron V. and Louise M. Kerr Henrick. She married Charles E. Peacock on Aug. 3, 1963, in Mount Sterling. He died Feb. 19, 1999.

Her father and one brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her mother of Mount Sterling; two sons, Mike (and Kerrie) of Pleasant Plains and Jim (and Krissy) of Astoria; two daughters, Debbie Lowe and Amy (and Wayne) Calhoun, both of Beardstown; one brother, Tom (and Karen) Henrick of Mount Sterling; and one granddaughter.

She received a bachelor's degree in education from Western Illinois University in Macomb in 1963.

She taught first, third and sixth grades in Beardstown for 36 years, teaching at Lincoln School, Gard School and Brick School. She retired in June 1999.

She was a member of Beardstown Education Association and the Illinois Education Association.

She also was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mount Sterling.

Services were held Saturday at Sager Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Hensler officiating. Burial was in Beardstown City Cemetery.
