Charles Plate, 94, a resident of Burbank, Calif., a number of years, and formerly of Ipava, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 1980, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.
Born July 22, 1886, in Fulton County, a son of Henry and Mary Plate, he married Lena Kelly Nov. 11, 1909, in Lewistown. She died July 22, 1961.
One brother, several half brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Vermont and Harold of Ipava; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Baldwin of Burbank and Mrs. Dorothy Wisdom of Missoula, Mont.; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great, great-grandchildren.
Mr. Plate was a former area farmer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Earl Moore officiating. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday morning at the Memorial Home prior to the funeral.
