Mrs. Avis D. Pettet, 80, of Lewistown, died July 24, 1980, in Graham Hospital, Canton.
Born Jan. 4, 1900, in Cass Township, a daughter of Lemuel and Clara Cameron Henderson, she married John Pettet Dec. 10, 1919, in Cuba. He died March 2, 1949.
One daughter, three brothers and three sisters also preceded her.
Surviving are one son, Robert Lee of Lewistown; one daughter, Mrs. Claire (Lorena) May of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Henderson of Knoxville; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mosher of Canton and Miss Julia Henderson of Lewistown.
She was a member of Lewistown Free Methodist Church where services were held July 28. Rev. H. R. Schuetz and Rev. Eugene Stevenson officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pettet was the grandmother of Sandra Matheny of Astoria.
