Mrs. Eva Peyton, 84, of Adair, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 6, 1980, at the Americana Health Care Center in Macomb.
She was born Nov. 20, 1895, in Ferris, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Melinda Hemm Abbott. She married Everett Peyton on Feb. 14, 1917, in Carthage. He died Dec. 15, 1978.
She lived most of her life in Adair before moving to Macomb in 1979.
Surviving are one son, Robert “Pete” Peyton of Monmouth; one grandson; and one sister, Mrs. May Bronson of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Lester, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Whewell.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sargent’s Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Louise Francis Zuck officiating. Burial was in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.
