Mrs. Gladys Pierce Dies Jan. 18

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Pierce, 77, Lewistown, who died Sunday, Jan. 21 in the Clarytona Manor Nursing Home in Lewistown were held Wednesday in the Henry Memorial Home. Mrs. Pierce had been in ill health several months.

The Rev. Albert Stanley officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services, with burial in the Summum Cemetery.

Born Sept. 21, 1892, in Kerton Township, Fulton County, she was the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Severns) Baumgartner, and was married in 1923 to Frank Pierce in Peoria. He died earlier.

Surviving are two brothers, Hart Baumgartner of rural Havana, and Grover Baumgartner of Lincoln, Neb.

Mrs. Pierce had been a resident of Lewistown 30 years and was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church.
