Charles E. Parr, a well-known retired farmer, died at his home in Astoria early Friday morning, following a long illness. He was aged 81 years, one month and 11 days.
Mr. Parr was born July 20, 1870 in Pleasant township, a son of Samuel and Ann Horner Parr. He married Inez Brown, who preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 1951. A son, Roy Parr, of Astoria, survives, and three grandchildren.
He was a member of the Dutch Reformed church in Summum, and was also a member of the Astoria Knights of Pythias lodge. He is the last of a family of four.
Mr. Parr spent 65 years on the farm and moved to Astoria in 1935.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Cline Horton residence, the Rev. H. D. Simmons officiating. Burial in the Astoria Mausoleum.
