Worley Parks, 78, Of Colchester, Passes Away

Worley Parks, 78, of Colchester, passed away at his home there Friday, after being seriously ill for about ten days. He had been in poor health several years.

Mr. Parks was a son of Wathel and Mary (Prather) Parks, now deceased, and was born Nov. 2, 1872 at Bernadotte. He lived at Bluff City before moving to Colchester about 13 years ago. He was a retired mail carrier and farmer. He carried mail on the star route between Bluff City and Browning for 14 years.

He was married to Hattie Holmes, who survives. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Opal Fisher of Macomb; two grandchildren, who were reared in his home, Mrs. Juanita Brown of Macomb, and Mrs. Lillian Gassaway of Peoria; and a brother Manford Parks of Canton. He leaves five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Colchester, with Rev. Ernest Louderman officiating. Interment in Mt. Auburn cemetery.
