NANCY PANGBORN

Nancy Pangborn

Mrs. Nancy Pangborn, of Seehorn, oldest woman in Pike county, died one day last week in a Quincy hospital as the result of a broken hip. Tho well past the century mark, Mrs. Pangborn, until her accident of less than three weeks ago, had often boasted that she had never been ill a day in her life. A fire a few years ago burned all records concerning the exact place and date of her birth. She often spoke of having been born in the “Buckeye” state and from conversations concerning her age and and the fact that she has a living daughter nearly eighty-five years old, relatives estimate her age at 112 years. Since living in Seehorn, Mrs. Pangborn frequently took her basket on her arm and walked to Hull, where, having purchased groceries, she traveled back down the railroad track. Even in her late years, she chould dance with the spriest and only a few months ago showed some of the young people who they danced in olden times. On the day of her accident she had assisted in picking up and [__?] thirty bushels of potatoes.
