Ambrose Putman

Ambrose Putman, one of the old and highly respected citizens of Mt. Sterling, passed away at his home in that city Thursday morning at about 8 o’clock after a short illness. He was taken suddenly ill in a barbershop during Wednesday afternoon and was removed to his home, where he seemed to rally for a time, but passed peacefully away on the following day. Deceased was born in Ohio on June 17, 1835. He came to Brown county when a child 4 years of age, and Mt. Sterling has been his home ever since that early date.
