Mrs. Amanda E. Poorman, a cousin of Abraham Lincoln, is dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William F. Huge, in Chicago. Mrs. Poorman was eighty-seven years old. The late Dennis Hanks, who was her father, taught Abraham Lincoln to read and write. She was born in Charleston, March 1, 1834. Her father often visited the home of Lincoln teaching him in front of the grate fire.
