Miner Is Killed In Schuyler County

State Mine Inspector Tom Black was called Thursday night to Schuyler county, where a man was killed Thursday afternoon by a fall of soapstone from the roof of a mine two miles south of Ray.

William H. Putman, aged 38, was the victim. His skull was crushed and he lived only 10 minutes after the accident occurred. An inquest was held by the coroner of Schuyler county last evening.
