Harry M. Powell, manager of the Peoria Star and one of the most popular and best known newspaper men in the state died early Monday morning, following an illness of less than a week’s duration. An infection on the nose which poisoned his entire system caused death. Mr. Powell was 42 years old and had been associated with the Star since 1899; two years after the paper was founded by the late E. F. Baldwin.
