Aged Resident Dead

Asberry Parrish, an aged citizen of Astoria died Saturday at his home in this city, aged 80 years, 6 months and 4 days.

The deceased was born in Knox county, Ohio, June 30, 1839 and came to Illinois with his parents when quite young and settled on a farm west of Astoria on which is located the Salem church.

Mr. Parrish was united in marriage to Miss Mariah Derry, Feb. 3rd, 1870 and to them were born five children, three of whom survive, namely: Oscar of Astoria, Roy of Cuba and Mrs. Vinna Huffman of Rushville. His wife died several years ago.

The deceased was a member of the U. B. church, uniting Feb. 8, 1910 under the pastorate of Miss Ella Niswonger.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 o’clock p.m., at the U. B. church conducted by Rev. J. E. Fry. Burial in the Salem cemetery.
