William Purdy


Died, at his home two and one half miles South of Summum, Illinois, Wednesday, March 14th, 1894, Mr. Wm. Purdy, aged seventy-three years, three months and three days. Deceased was born December 11th, A. D. 1821, in Wayne county, Pennsylvania. Deceased emigrated to Holmes county, Ohio, in 1827, and on December 24th, 1866, was married to Miss Mary Ann Spring; came to Fulton county in 1867, and settled where he died. To them were born one son. Mr. Purdy was a great sufferer for a number of years of heart failure, yet he bore his suffering with patience and was fully prepared to meet death as a welcome visitor, having been a member of the regular Baptist church for a number of years.
