Clyde Ogden

Clyde OgdenClyde C. Ogden, 96, of rural Lewistown died at 4:10 p.m. April 26, 2014, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born July 30, 1917, in Sepo, a son of Elmer and Golda Eveland Ogden. He was a lifelong resident of that area. He married Alberta M. Gibbs on March 20, 1941, in Burlington, Iowa. She died Dec. 9, 1973. He later married Marie Smith. She died Aug. 24, 2008.

He also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are one son, David C. (and Connie) Ogden of Pacific Junction, Iowa; two daughters, Marjorie K. (and Tom) Pearson of Galesburg and Deanna J. Ogden-Anderson of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Marion (and Marlene) Ogden of Morton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Joe Havens.

He was a retired coal miner and lifelong farmer.

He was a member of Waterford Union Church since childhood. He also was a member of United Mine Workers Association and Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at his church in rural Lewistown with Reverend Mike Floyd officiating. Burial will be at Waterford Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Girls and Boys Town of Omaha, Neb.; St. Jude or Waterford Union Church.
