Murven OgdenMurven Ogden, 97, of Rushville died at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 4, 2009, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Feb. 8, 1912, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Clem and Mollie Schaffer Ogden. He married Thelma Sowers on Sept. 26, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She died July 24, 1997.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Galen and Clinton Ogden; and two sisters, Flossie Wise and Leona Shipp.

Surviving are many friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He farmed for 22 years and worked for Dale McCombs Trucking and Bader & Co. Grain Elevator as a truck driver for 18 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Dixie Croxton officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
