John T. “J” Oldknow, 79, of Santa Ana, Calif., formerly of Table Grove, died Sunday, July 9, 1995.
He was born May 15, 1916. He is survived by one sister, Frances Oldknow of Macomb.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Western Illinois University and earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Colorado in 1959. He taught industrial arts in Steward from 1938 to 1942. He served in the Army Air Force in England from 1942 to 1945. He was the photographic laboratory chief at Davis & Elkins College from 1947 to 1955. He was associate professor of engineering at the University of Colorado from 1961 to 1984. He taught at Santa Ana College, where he served as chairman of the engineering and technology division. He retired in 1984.
Graveside burial of cremains were held Saturday at Harris Cemetery near Table Grove. Arrangements were by Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb.
