Floyd NolanFloyd L. Nolan, 81, of Peoria died at 10:45 a.m. May 17, 2016, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1934, in Peoria, a son of Fred Earl and Dorothy Louise Thompson Nolan. He married Charlotte Jean Lonsdale on June 9, 1956. He later married Bernadine Hughes on Aug. 28, 1994, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Paula Lutrell and Cathleen (and Harold) Ludolph, both of Glasford, and Sherrie Blasingim of Peoria; two sons, Gerry (and Betsy) Nolan of Lexington, S.C., and Bradley (and Mary Nolan) of Pekin; one stepdaughter, Drusilla (and Robert) Stanard of Granville; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Robbin Lynn Kost, who helped in his care.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.

He was a member of the Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria.

He worked many years as a self-employed plaster contractor.

He was involved with his community and had been his neighborhood advocate for over 20 years. He had served as the president of the Day Spring Park Columbia Terrace North Neighborhood Association, was a member of the West Bluff Council and the Peoria Neighborhood Alliance Association.

Services were held Saturday at Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Creve Coeur was in charge of arrangements.
