Rex Nance

Rex L. Nance, 59, of Astoria died at 10:35 a.m. April 20, 2010, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Rushville.

He was born April 14, 1951, in Peoria, a son of Samuel and Virginia Nance. He married Peggy Podabinski on June 24, 1979, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Brenda Burling of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nancy (and Perry) Miller of Mena, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Raymond Nance.

He was a substitute teacher in Rushville and Lewistown. He worked the last five years for Klide’s Fast Stop in Astoria.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Astoria where he taught Sunday school, did mission work and was the Celebrate Recovery leader.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Bible Church in Astoria with Pastor Gary Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
