She was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Bushnell, a daughter of Lewis and Mariam Melvin James. She married Howard D. McGinnis on Dec. 29, 1951, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2013.
She also was preceded in death by two children, Connie Ripley and James Allen McGinnis; one grandson, Howard Henn; one brother, Robert James; and one sister, Beverly Lemaster.
Surviving are three children, Carolyn McGinnis and Charlotte (and Ron) Henn, both of Arkansas, and Sandy (and Lendel) Walters of Canton; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Harvard Hills Baptist Church in Washington, Ill.
Service were held Monday at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton with Lisa Cato-Crider officiating. Burial was at Walnut Cemetery in Banner.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
