She was born March 24, 1931, in McDonough County, a daughter of Gustav and Bertha Schnarr. She married Robert “Bob” McCloskey on Dec. 23, 1949. He survives.
Also surviving are five children, Debbie Totemeier, Gary (and Cindy) McCloskey, Tom (and Nancy) McCloskey, Janice (and Mike) Ball and Betsy McCloskey; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was one of nine children and lived her childhood in Lewistown.
She was an employee at Southeastern Community College for many years. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A private family burial was held in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
Memorials may be made to the Des Moines County Humane Society and the Burlington Homeless Shelter.
