Ruth A. Miller, 91, of Canton, formerly of Carthage, died at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 17, 2019, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
She was born March 23, 1927, in Macomb, a daughter of Benjamin and Dorothea (David) Etter. She married James William “JW” Miller in 1948 in Carthage.
Surviving are one daughter, Teresa (and Rick) Brown of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren, Bradley Collins and Heather (and Mark) Gooding; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Collins; two sons, James Benjamin Miller and David Eugene Miller; and one sister, Faith Shyrock.
She was a beautician.
She was a graduate of Ipava High School and went to cosmetology school. She played taps for the military funerals held during the Camp Ellis era in Ipava.
Services will be held at the Ipava Cemetery at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
