James H. Mellor, 75, of Rushville died at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 18, 2017, at his residence.James H. Mellor, 75, of Rushville died at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 18, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 3, 1941, in Colfax, Iowa, the seventh of eight children born to James A. and Bertha Withers Mellor. He married Marian L. Simpson on Jan. 5, 1974, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin Mellor and Joseph (and Katherine) Mellor, both of Rushville; two daughters, Jeri (and John) Marinelli of Springfield and Melissa (and Sam) Schmittler of Greenview; and nine grandchildren.
He worked at Oscar Mayer and Company and Excel Corp. in Beardstown many years. He also was the head of the maintenance department at Chandlerville School District, worked as a general contractor and was a bus driver for Beardstown School District #15 until retiring.
He was a member of the Beardstown Jaycees, Beardstown Lions Club and coached and umpired Pony League Baseball in Beardstown for years.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be no services. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
