She was born Feb. 27, 1945, in Hamburg, Germany, the daughter of Peter and Irene Lang.
Surviving are one son, David Allen Maxwell of Rushville; one daughter, Karen Joyce Neace of Griffith, Ind.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Bremen High School in Midlothian, Adrian Arpell Beauty School and Thornton Community College where she became a certified welder.
She was employed by Honeycomb Beauty Salon in Chicago for 13 years. She later worked at International Harvester and J.T. Ryerson & Sons, both in Chicago for many years, until retirement.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
