Onia "Frankie" McLarenOnia “Frankie” McLaren, 82, of Browning died at 4:12 a.m. Aug. 26, 2014, at her home.

She was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Filbert, W.Va., a daughter of Joseph Saunders and Princess Ella Bowman. She married Willis “Bill” McLaren on July 12, 1951, in Pocahontas, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2002.

She also was preceded in death by parents who raised her, Robert and Lula Harman; two sisters, Verla Jane Hart and twin Virginia Masek; and five brothers, Harliss, Harding, Herbert, Landiss and Robert Bowman.

Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer (and Marlin) White of Browning; one brother, J.R. Bowman of Danville, Va.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a waitress at Subway Café in Astoria, switchboard operator in Ipava and an accountant for Western Electric in Chicago.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church and Right to Life.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at her church with Mike Shirley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Bader Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
