Marjorie MorelandMarjorie S. Moreland, 89, of Rushville died at 7:25 a.m. Sept. 19, 2013, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Butler, Pa., a daughter of James Garrison and Beryl Margaret Pitzer Stewart. She married Clark Moreland on March 25, 1950, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2009.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Devitt.

Surviving are one son, Garry (and Mary) Moreland of Rushville; three daughters, Susan (and Don) Wilkins of Evanston, Marsha (and Ron) Bartlett of Rushville and Jane (and Shawn) Foreman of Elmhurst; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio.

She worked at Chicago Tribune in the advertising department from 1945-51 when she then moved to Quincy. She lived in Quincy for two years until moving to Rushville. She worked at Moreland and Devitt Pharmacy, the family business, whenever she was needed.

She was a member of Rushville First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school, participated in Women's Bible Study, Explorers' Bible Study, was a Deacon and sang in the choir for many years. She also was a member of PEO Sisterhood Chapter A.L., Wednesday Ladies Sewing Circle and Schuyler Singers.

Services were held Monday at her church with Rev. Steve Akins officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
