He was born July 17, 1941, in Table Grove, a son of Lawrence and Nedra Abernathy Malott. He married Judy Thompson on April 20, 1963, in Summum. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael Malott of Table Grove; one daughter, Cindy (and Rick) Martin of Macomb; one brother, Dean (and Verla) Malott of Table Grove; one sister, Shirley (and Larry) Roberts of Colchester; and three grandchildren.
He was a press operator and later did truck repair at International Harvester in Canton, and transferred to Navistar International in Springfield, Ohio, in 1988 until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of Gold Hills Golf Club in Macomb where he accomplished the first of his two holes-in-one. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited and NRA.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.
