Donald MarshallDonald Howard Marshall, 93, of Cuba died at 2:25 p.m. Nov. 2, 2012, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton.

He was born July 17, 1919, in Cuba, a son of George Albert and Ada Olive Powles Marshall. He married Violet L. Smith on Oct. 28, 1942, in Quincy. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2010.

He also was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Donald (and Barbara) Marshall of Canton and Bruce Alan (and Theresa) Marshall of Morton; two daughters, Linda Lou Woods and Janet Kay (and Charles) Werry, both of Canton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was an Illinois licensed plumber. He owned and operated Marshall Tin Shop that became Marshall Plumbing and Heating from 1947-82 and also had owned Marshall Furniture and Appliance, both of Cuba.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.

He was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church where he was one of the two oldest members and a member of Cuba Business Association.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Kenneth Harris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery with military rites conducted by Cuba American Legion Post.
