Ronald MallicoatRonald R. Mallicoat, 83, of Arenzville died at 8:20 p.m. April 5, 2012, at his home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Rockford, a son of Robert O. and Anna L. Larson Mallicoat. He married Doris L. Demy on Feb. 2, 1952, in Virginia. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, John R. Mallicoat and Ron L. Mallicoat, both of Arenzville and Allen (and Debra) Landes of Jacksonville; three daughters, Ruth (and Brad) Dutton of Rushville, Charmion Mallicoat of Arenzville and Linda (and Mark) Lynn of Jacksonville; three brothers, Donald (and Jo Ann) Mallicoat of East Peoria, Jerry (and Rose) Mallicoat of Creve Coeur and Roger Mallicoat of Beardstown; one sister, Fay (and Delmos) Winkelman of Arenzville; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

He was in the United States Air Force, serving as a Corporal from 1946-49.

He worked as a lumber inspector at several saw mills and was a welder.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Reverend J. Cook officiating. Burial was in Ridgeville Cemetery in Browning.
