Karen McCombs-Chavez, 61, of Peoria died Dec. 23, 2011, at Bella Vista Nursing Home in Peoria Heights.
She was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Peoria, a daughter of Stuart and Lois Derry McCombs. She married Joe Chavez on May 6, 2010. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother of Peoria; three children, Natalie (and Paul) Wilson of Peoria Heights, Stu (and Jennifer) Whitaker of Germantown Hills and Heath Whitaker of Peoria; two sisters, Peggy (and Frank) Morris of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Kim (and Rick) Bacon of Peoria; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Randy.
Services were held Jan. 2, 2012, at Parkview Church, 2221 Gale Ave., Peoria with Rev. Steven Barch officiating.
