Billy MorelandBilly J. Moreland, 66, of Quincy, formerly of Rushville, died at 4:53 p.m. Dec. 23, 2010, at Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.

He was born July 16, 1944, in Schuyler County, a son of Robert E. and Goldie Bowen Moreland.

Surviving are two brothers, Raymond (and Kathryn) Moreland of Ocala, Fla., and Greg (and Vicky) Moreland of Ipava; and two sisters, Eva Mae (and David) Hewitt of Rushville and Mary Ellen (and David) Suver of Glasglow, Ky.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Eugene and Bruce Moreland.

During the Korean Conflict, he served as a courier and missile crewman with the U.S. Army.

He worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Security.

He was a member of Morgan Street Baptist Church in Peoria.

Private graveside services will be held at Langford Cemetery, south of Rushville with Reverend Rosalee Ross officiating, with military rites by Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
