Virginia Masek, 78, of Astoria died at 7:14 a.m. Oct. 26, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria.
She was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Filbert, W.V., a daughter of Joseph S. and Princess E. Bowman.
Surviving are one son, John Masek of Astoria; one sister, Frances “Frankie” McLaren of Browning; and one brother, Joseph R. Bowman of Danville, Va.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Verla Jane Hart; and five brothers, Harliss, Landiss, Harding, Herbert and Robert Bowman.
She worked in payroll for Western Electric in Cicero. She later worked as an accountant at LaGrange Federal Bank in LaGrange.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Downers Grove.
Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Mike Shirley officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
