LOIS J. (CASSEL) SMITH MORRIS

Lois Morris

Lois J. Morris, 71, of Bushnell died at 5:36 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Bader, the daughter of Ralph and Hildreth McLaren Cassel. She married George R. Smith. She later married Dickie Morris on Nov. 22, 1980, in Bushnell. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert Cassel of Bader; one stepson, Duane (and Theresa) Morris of Sandoval; two daughters, Teresa (and Richard) Nicholson of Davenport, Iowa, and Jane Morris of Bushnell; two stepdaughters, Nadine Lee of Sandoval and Melinda (and Darrell) of Maui, Hawaii; three brothers, Keith (and Charlotte) Cassel of Raleigh, N.C., Dale (and Carol) Cassel of Pekin and David (and Rita) Cassel of Astoria; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Smith; and one great-grandchild, Ariel Graham.

She worked in the Food Service Department for Western Illinois University, Mosaic of Macomb and Bushnell and The Elms Nursing Home in Bushnell.

She was a member of Nazarene Church in Bushnell.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ron Ingram officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home in Astoria. Burial will be held at Bader Cemetery in Browning.

Memorials may be made to American Kidney Fund or Bader Christian Church.
