Mary McClain

Mary Ann McClain, 75, of Ipava died at 5:14 a.m. Jan. 21, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born July 2, 1931, in Athensville Township, Greene County, a daughter of Logan E. and Elsie L. Willis Barrow. She married Edward McClain on Dec. 1, 1950, in Lincoln. He died July 29, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sherry Grisham; one grandson, Randy Mustread; one great-granddaughter, Erin Lester; one brother, John Barrow; and one sister, Thelma Randolph.

Surviving are four daughters, Sharon (and Ralph) Bill and Rhonda McClain, both of Supply, Ark., Shelly (and Floyd) Mustread of San Jose and Cherry (and Roland) Loveland of Smithfield; two sons, Edward (and Debra) McClain of Hopedale and Logan McClain (and Cindy Batterton) of Table Grove; one stepson, Walter McClain; one brother, Floyd (and Alma) Barrow of Scottville; one sister, Norma “Opal” (and Paul) Moore of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She worked in the warehouse of Foster and Gallagher in Peoria for several years. She also was a homemaker.

She was a member of TOPS in Peoria and attended New Salem Christian Church in Adair.

There will be no services. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation with burial to be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
