Virginia McLarenVirginia McLaren, 75, of Bryant died at 5:45 p.m. June 23, 2007, at Sunset Manor in Canton.

She was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Canton, a daughter of George and Spica Parsley Bennett. She married Robert Jr. McLaren on Aug. 12, 1950, in Bryant. He died Jan. 22, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Mark; one daughter, Spica Gayton; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Missy (and Ron) Cozad of Canton and Celia (and Larry) Kaufmann of Bryant; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a nurse for over 25 years, and had worked at Graham Hospital in Canton and Pekin Hospital.

She was a member of Bryant Christian Church and a volunteer for the literacy program at Spoon River College.

Cremation will be accorded. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be at Maryville Cemetery in Bryant. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Spoon River College Literacy Program.
