Freida Millslagle

Freida Mae Millslagle, 83, of Rushville died at 8:56 a.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Tuesday, May 16, 1922, in Vermont, the daughter of Jay and Myrtle Rhoades Walters. She married Johnnie Millslagle on June 3, 1943, in Marion County, Miss. He died Sept. 22, 1972.

Surviving are one son, Terry (and Traca) of Rushville; one brother, Marshall Walters of Peoria; three grandchildren; and two step-grandsons.
She attended Astoria Schools.

She spent two years during World War II working at the Ordnance Depot in Tooele, Utah, repairing Army vehicles to be sent overseas.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for over 60 years.

She worked for Cudahy Packing Co., Mickelberry Packing Co., Bartlow Brothers Packing Co., and Astoria Fibra-Steel until retiring in 1988.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Kruzan officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Schuyler Co. Rescue Squad.
