James Maberry

James D. Maberry, 34, of Havana was pronounced dead at 3:13 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005, at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. He died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 in McLean County.

He was born Aug. 22, 1970, in Peoria, a son of Kenneth and Terry Phipps Maberry. He married Denise Cohee on Sept. 16, 1994, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Peoria; four sons, James II of Decatur, Aaron of Havana, and Jessie and David, both of Kilbourne; two daughters, Kimi Maberry of Havana and Summer Maberry of Kilbourne; two brothers, Jeffry, his twin, of Ipava and Jody of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Tammy Maberry of Peoria; one half brother, Kevin of Simi Valley, Calif.; one half sister, Dennett Solomon of Simi Valley; and one grandfather, Albert Phipps of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by one grandfather and two grandmothers.

He was a manager for Pizza Hut and was a delivery person for the Peoria Journal Star.

He was a member of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and was a former emergency medical technician in Centralia.

He was a member of the North American Fishing Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. Joel Newton officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Additional services will be Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Highlandville, Mo. Burial will be in Maberry Cemetery in Highlandville.
