WILLARD W. MITCHELL

Willard W. Mitchell, 73, of Astoria, formerly of Fairview, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.

He was born April 20, 1931, in Fairview, a son of Galen S. and Marie L. Crowl Mitchell. He married his wife, Ann, on June 24, 1988, in Bernadotte. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Mylo (and Amanda) of Astoria; four daughters, Holly (and Rusty) Dillman of St. Petersburg, Fla., Melody (and Hal) Wiseman of Washington, Georgia Mitchell of Astoria and Cheyenne Mitchell at home; one sister, Lena Watkins of London Mills; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

An Army veteran, he was a member of the American Legion in Vermont.

He had worked for AMAX Coal Co. in Vermont and last worked for Heil Trucking Co.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Rushville.

He was a member of Fairview Reformed Church.

Services are being held at 10 a.m. today at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Fairview with Rev. Vernon Dean officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to an education fund established at Ipava State Bank.
