Albert McKinley

Albert R. McKinley, 87, of Lewistown died at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 4, 1915, in rural Summum, a son of John B. and Lucy Irwin McKinley. He married Bertha Wilson on Feb. 19, 1938, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Eldon (and Linda) of Carthage and John (and Marcia) of Williamsburg, Iowa; one daughter, Carol (and Frank) Yocum of Ipava; one brother, Paul (and Leaetta) of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Mary Berry of Canton; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He also farmed in Waterford Township all his life, operated a small business in Monterey for eight years and had worked for Canton Workers of International Harvester for five years.

He was a member of Fulton County Farm Bureau and was a former member of Lewistown Optimist Club.

He formerly served as a Waterford Township trustee.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Terry Westerfield officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in rural Canton.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Rescue Squad or to Lewistown United Methodist Church.
