Sterling Mullis

Sterling Ray Mullis, 29, of Tulsa, Okla., was shot to death Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, while trying to subdue the murderer of a convenience store clerk a half a block from his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1972, in Canton, a son of Kerm Mullis and Cherryl Bricker.

Surviving are his mother of Grand Lake, Colo.; his father, Kerm (and Jan) Mullis of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a half-brother, Kirk (and Kaileen) Thompson of Havana; a half-sister, Venice (and Anthony) Fosdyck of Bushnell; two maternal uncles, Rodney (and Carolyn) Bricker, of Galeton, Colo., and Marion Bricker of Granby, Colo; a maternal aunt, Lois (and Joe) Palmer of Vermont; and numerous cousins, paternal aunts, uncles, cousins and stepsisters.

Services were held Sept. 18 at Ninde Woodland Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
