Mabel Miller

Mabel E. Miller, 88, of Lewistown died at 6:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Prairieview Care Center of Lewistown, where she was a resident.

She was born March 16, 1912, in Cuba, a daughter of Albert C. "Bert" and Sarah E. Cameron Long. She married Robert Ewan Miller on July 13, 1931, in Macomb. He died March 31, 1975.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Eskridge, one brother, two sisters, one stepsister and one great-granddaughter.

Surviving are four sons, Carl (and Rochelle) of Ipava, Owen (and Marcia) of Lewistown, John (and Joan) of Plattsburg, Ohio, and Floyd of Canton; one stepsister, Maxine (and Hubert) Miller of Bushnell; eight grandchildren, including Brian Eskridge whom she raised; several stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was a member of Cross Roads Free Methodist Church in Lewistown.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. David Long, her nephew, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Rescue Squad or to Prairieview Care Center's Patient Activity Fund.
