Charles Douglas Miley, 83, of Springfield, Va., formerly of Ipava, died at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Fairfax Station, Va.

He was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Clarksville, Pa., a son of Harold Verne Sr. and Nellie Orndorff Miley. He married Roberta Ladd on Dec. 8, 1944, in Quincy. She died July 26, 2000.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, April (and Paul) Marcot of Fairfax Station; one son, Alan (and Kathy) Miley of Reston, Va.; and two grandchildren.

A member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Lions Club of Ocean City, Md., he was a World War II Army veteran.

He worked as an accountant for the U.S. General Accounting Office.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Ronald Peters will officiate. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to any charity.
